To craft The GlenAllachie Wine Series, we first expertly matured our spirit in American Oak Ex-Bourbon Barrels. Subsequently, the whisky underwent additional maturation for almost two years in Wine Barriques meticulously sourced by Master Distiller Billy Walker, imparting a distinctive twist onto the GlenAllachie spirit.
This straw gold malt gets its elegant stone fruit, zesty flavours from Sauternes Barriques made from French Oak, with a medium level of toasting. Sauternes is a dessert wine originating from the Bordeaux region of South West France, using the ‘noble rot’ to sweeten the wine. These Barriques were bottled at their optimum – when the characteristics of the distillery and the wood reached the perfect balance.
This expression is bottled unchilfiltered for flavour with no added colouring at 48% ABV.
